bringing reusable water bottles into its stadiums, after initially saying it will allow them.<\/p>\n<p>Just three weeks ago, FIFA updated its code of conduct policy for North American venues, stating that \u201cempty, transparent, reusable plastic bottles, as much as (1 litre in) capability, could also be brought into the stadium,\u201d Reuters reported, but backpedalled Thursday, saying they were <a href=\"https:\/\/digitalhub.fifa.com\/m\/50ebae81c412b7d5\/original\/FIFA-World-Cup-2026-Stadium-Code-of-Conduct.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">now not allowed<\/a> and that fans will now a\u00a0FIFA\u00a0spokesperson said the choice was made as a security precaution.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFIFA\u00a0made the choice to ban\u00a0bottles\u00a0to stop risk and injury to players and considerations, and FIFA is applying this consideration across its tournament stadiums.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are 48 teams set to play within the World Cup starting this month in Mexico City, with At BC Place in Vancouver, water stations can be found near sections 204, 211, 218, 225, 231, 238, 245, 252, 305 and 310.<\/p>\n<p>The water ban comes amid fan complaints over the associated fee of attending the tournament.
