A possible blockbuster matchup between Devin Haney and Shakur Stevenson may very well be certainly one of the primary major fights Zuffa Boxing pursues if recent reports prove accurate.<\/p>\n

In response to boxing reporter Sean Zittel, sources have indicated that each Haney and Stevenson have agreed to hitch Zuffa Boxing, with an official announcement potentially arriving within the near future. \u201cI used to be also told that Zuffa, the fight they need upon signing each of them is them fighting one another,\u201d Zittel said on his channel.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Zittel added that he was informed Team Haney is all for making the fight, while the reported sticking point is Stevenson.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat was told to me yesterday, and from what else I used to be told, was the Haneys want the fight, Zuffa wants the fight, the holdup is Shakur Stevenson,\u201d said Zittel.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The timing of the report comes as Haney\u2019s welterweight title picture has grow to be more complicated. Keyshawn Davis was recently installed because the mandatory challenger for Haney\u2019s WBO welterweight title, creating one other high-profile option for the previous two-division champion. Zittel claimed sources told him the mandatory designation could affect the timeline for a possible Haney-Stevenson clash.<\/p>\n

Neither Haney nor Stevenson has publicly confirmed a cope with Zuffa Boxing. Stevenson has repeatedly pushed back against reports linking him to the promotion, while Zittel acknowledged he had not yet received a response from members of Stevenson\u2019s team regarding the most recent claims.<\/p>\n

If the reported plans come together, Haney versus Stevenson would immediately rank amongst the largest fights available below the heavyweight division, matching two unbeaten former world champions who’ve spent years being linked to at least one one other.<\/p>\n
