The Carolina Hurricanes have knotted the Stanley Cup Final at one win apiece, defeating the Vegas Golden Knights by a 4-3 final rating in additional time at Lenovo Center in Raleigh on Thursday evening.<\/p>\n

But before what was nothing in need of an exhilarating third period and the following additional time, there was a really frightening moment. Golden Knights defenseman Brayden McNabb was struck directly within the face with an 87-MPH slap shot from Hurricanes forward Nikolaj Ehlers; the veteran defenseman immediately fell to the ice and, while clutching his face, made his way just just a few feet away to the tunnel resulting in the Vegas dressing room with the assistance of a team trainer.<\/p>\n

ESPN’s Emily Kaplan reported that McNabb had been taken to a neighborhood hospital for further evaluation, and useless to say, it was a scary scene<\/a> for his teammates.<\/p>\n

\u201cVegas players were obviously concerned for Brayden McNabb after he left the sport, but felt they handled a troublesome situation well,\u201d wrote Jesse Granger on X, formerly often called Twitter. \u201cMarner called it terrifying, and said he\u2019s hoping to envision on him soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thus far within the Stanley Cup Playoffs, McNabb has scored once while adding six assists in 16 games played, while also averaging 20:53 of ice time. He’s also been an especially useful shot blocker, having already blocked 33 goal shots within the postseason after racking up 142 blocked shots in 63 regular-season games.<\/p>\n

Whether or not McNabb might be available for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, which might be played on Saturday evening from T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, has yet to be determined.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
