Davina Perrin says she has accepted her omission from England\u2019s Women\u2019s T20 World Cup squad, not least because she shall be sidelined for the subsequent few weeks.<\/strong><\/p>\n

There was no room for Perrin in England\u2019s 15-strong squad as they went with the tried and trusted, despite the 19-year-old\u2019s 42-ball century in The Hundred last yr highlighting her enormous potential.<\/p>\n

Perrin, though, saw the writing on the wall after following up a modest debut season in Australia\u2019s Big Bash League with just 37 runs in three innings in England\u2019s intra-squad contests in South Africa in March.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t get a phone call, I got a message just as they were about to announce selection,\u201d Perrin told the Press Association. \u201cIt was more just \u2018keep scoring runs\u2019, pretty short and sweet.\u201d<\/p>\n

Glimmer of hope<\/h2>\n

She continued: \u201cIt\u2019s part and parcel of the journey. I had opportunities over the winter within the Big Bash but I didn\u2019t quite take those. <\/p>\n

\u201cYou ought to be involved in (World Cups) but it surely was more of a glimmer of hope than anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cI kind of saw it coming. They\u2019ve got a extremely, really strong squad; the ladies are really looking really strong. <\/p>\n

Out of motion<\/h2>\n

Any thoughts of being on standby were soon dashed days after her omission.<\/p>\n

Perrin tore her hamstring while jogging to forestall a boundary on Warwickshire duty on May 6 and shall be out of motion until the top of June on the earliest.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to be running at 60 per cent and as I used to be decelerating, my hammy just went,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

Comeback<\/h2>\n

Perrin is as an alternative waiting for her comeback in time for The Hundred, with the Wolverhampton-born-and-bred teenager returning to Birmingham Phoenix, who’ve paid \u00a350,000 for the opener\u2019s services.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve still got youth on my side so I\u2019ll keep using that,\u201d she added. \u201cI\u2019ve still got so many more experiences ahead of me to learn from and I just look ahead to those, greater than anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven after having such a successful season last yr, I still wanted to return to my coach at Warwickshire and alter my technique a bit and tinker with a couple of little things.<\/p>\n

\u201cI feel crucial thing for me at once is continue to grow, keep setting the bar high and keep trying my best.\u201d<\/p>\n
