{"id":347674,"date":"2026-06-08T17:11:41","date_gmt":"2026-06-08T11:41:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ebiztoday.news\/?p=347674"},"modified":"2026-06-08T17:11:41","modified_gmt":"2026-06-08T11:41:41","slug":"why-apple-could-also-be-winning-again-computerworld","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ebiztoday.news\/index.php\/2026\/06\/08\/why-apple-could-also-be-winning-again-computerworld\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Apple could also be winning again \u2013 Computerworld"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>It got here from the longer term<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>News this week is that incoming CEO John Ternus has made some tough decisions around Apple\u2019s approach to spatial computing,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/mingchikuo\/status\/2062216902609695054?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">terminating development<\/a>\u00a0of Vision Pro (at the same time as leaked\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/LusiRoy8\/status\/2062080216026263808?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">images of a black model<\/a>\u00a0emerge) while focusing R&#038;D on two\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.applemust.com\/if-apple-wants-to-disrupt-eyewear-it-has-to-help-people-see\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">smart glasses projects<\/a>\u00a0to compete with Meta.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The intention is to introduce XR and AR glasses priced at around $300 to $500 each. While not as richly-featured because the Vision Pro, they will probably be inside the reach of more people and draw deeply on the large R&#038;D effort that went into the unique Apple AR visors. Apple hopes a deal with trust and privacy will probably be enough to push Meta aside, helping Cupertino dominate this a part of the category. If that plan succeeds, don\u2019t be in any respect surprised to see plans for Vision Pro 2 return to the table, though that\u2019s not the main focus now.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"jwPlayer--floatingContainer\" role=\"complementary\" data-nosnippet=\"\">\n<\/aside>\n<p>Apple incessantly described the Vision Pro as a product \u201cpulled from the longer term,\u201d a tool for enterprise users and early adopters. For a lot of such users, the prevailing product will probably be useful of their work for time to come back.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s strategically solid about that is that Apple has now defined  future for spatial computing and is bringing components of that future to the mass market on the premise of a provable technology you may already try for yourself in any Apple Store.
