Three planes were damaged when violent winds sent\u00a0airport equipment hurtling across the tarmac and crashing into them.<\/p>\n

Footage filmed through a terminal window shows heavy rain and powerful gusts battering the\u00a0airport yesterday afternoon.<\/p>\n

At one point, a set of boarding stairs was blown across the tarmac, prompting several ground staff in hi-vis jackets to sprint after it.<\/p>\n

A driverless ground support vehicle may be seen being pushed across the tarmac, passing just feet from stationary\u00a0aircraft.<\/p>\n

Three\u00a0Air\u00a0India\u00a0Airbus A320S at Indira Gandhi International\u00a0Airport in Delhi,\u00a0India, were damaged throughout the sudden storm.<\/p>\n

All three\u00a0aircraft were empty on the time, and no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

Airport officials said a step ladder and a trestle were blown into the planes by the strong winds.<\/p>\n

A source from IndiGo told local media the trestle had been secured but got here loose throughout the severe weather.<\/p>\n

Air\u00a0Traffic Control did not warn the\u00a0airport operator or\u00a0airlines in regards to the deteriorating conditions.<\/p>\n

All three\u00a0aircraft were withdrawn from service following the incident.<\/p>\n

Two are expected to return to operation this week, while repairs to the third are prone to take several days longer.<\/p>\n

The step ladder and trestle were reportedly badly damaged, but no injuries were reported.<\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t the primary weather-related mishap involving\u00a0an Air\u00a0India\u00a0aircraft at Indira Gandhi International\u00a0Airport.<\/p>\n

In January, a brand new\u00a0Airbus A350 was damaged after ingesting an unsecured baggage container while taxiing following a flight from Latest York in dense fog.<\/p>\n
