Actor Charlie Sheen<\/strong>\u00a0and \u201caka Charlie Sheen\u201d director Andrew\u202fRenzi<\/strong> are reflecting on the actor\u2019s life following the much-discussed Netflix documentary. In a brand new interview, Sheen explained that being sober allowed him to participate truthfully within the project and revisit some difficult topics, akin to his past drug use and public scandals. Sheen also praised Renzi\u2019s approach, saying he felt the documentary focused on understanding him as an individual slightly than exploiting his past controversies.<\/p>\n

Renzi said that a part of his job was to \u201cdetermine what the realities of this fever dream of a life really were,\u201d as a few of the stories on the market about Sheen may need been exaggerated over time.<\/p>\n

\u201cCharlie\u2019s recall is unlike anything I could ever imagine,\u201d Renzi said, while even Sheen added that his memories \u201cshouldn\u2019t be intact and available\u201d after his past drug use. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The THR reporter described Sheen as \u201ca bit annoyed\u201d over comments about his health, noting that, \u201cI believe my presence answers those questions.\u201d He also seemed equally dismissive about questions concerning his funds, replying, \u201cWould you ask me that query at a feast in front of my parents?\u201d<\/p>\n

Fortunately, Sheen\u2019s first meeting with Renzi went rather a lot more easily. Sheen revealed that there was substantial interest in making a documentary about his life, but Renzi was the just one to whom he granted an in-person meeting to pitch it.<\/p>\n

Sooner or later prior, his autobiography, \u201cThe Book of Sheen: A Memoir,\u201d was published by Gallery Books, an imprint of Simon & Schuster. Although Renzi tried, each Sheen\u2019s brother Emilio and their father, Martin Sheen, declined to take part in the documentary. Renzi even showed them a rough cut of \u201cPart One\u201d to point out them the standard of the Netflix special, but to no avail.<\/p>\n

\u201cDad had such a selected response to it. He said, \u2018You don\u2019t need me,\u2019\u201d Charlie recalled. \u201c\u202f\u2018You don\u2019t need the me of today. You\u2019ve got the really interesting, handsome me. That\u2019s how I need to be within the doc.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

That being said, \u201cOne Battle After One other\u201d Oscar winner Sean Penn<\/strong> did appear within the documentary. Renzi said Penn served as his \u201canchor\u201d and likewise provided his favorite piece of feedback on the entire documentary.<\/p>\n
