Sheriff Country<\/em>\u2018s Michele Weaver<\/strong> revealed the lengths she went through to cover her pregnancy on the show.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou all appear to love seeing clips of me hiding my belly last season \u2026 so here you go!! \ud83d\ude02,\u201d Weaver captioned an Instagram video<\/a> on Wednesday, June 10, of her on set of the hit CBS series. \u201cThat is what happens while you film until 38 weeks pregnant!!!\u201d<\/p>\n

Weaver, who plays Cassidy, previously took to social media in May to deal with why she hasn\u2019t been in recent episodes, writing, \u201cPeople keep asking if I used to be written off. Nope .. just had to go away to have a baby.\u201d<\/p>\n

She continued: \u201cI\u2019m back next week! Don\u2019t miss tonight\u2019s episode! When you think what\u2019s going to occur next\u2026 trust me.. you don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n

During an April episode of the hit CBS series, Cassidy was finally in a position to solve her missing sister\u2019s case. That involved Cassidy getting kidnapped by a serial killer who got away with murdering women for years.<\/p>\n

While Mickey (Morena Baccarin<\/strong>) saved Cassidy just in time, the deputy asked for some time without work. The ultimate scene showed Cassidy and her mother driving off in her automobile while healing from their loss.<\/p>\n

The network previously renewed Sheriff Country<\/em> for season 2 \u2014 with Weaver expected to reprise her role as Cassidy. Sheriff Country<\/em> also stars Baccarin, Christopher Gorham, Matt Lauria <\/strong>and W. Earl Brown<\/strong> while Amanda Arcuri <\/strong>and Ian Quinlan<\/strong> were promoted to series regulars for the second season.<\/p>\n

Concern about Cassidy\u2019s future comes after Sheriff Country<\/em>\u2018s predecessor, Fire Country<\/em>, received backlash when budget cuts led to Billy Burke <\/strong>and Stephanie Arcila<\/strong>\u2018s exits.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a hearth show. Anyone can go at any time,\u201d showrunner Tia Napolitano<\/strong> told Us Weekly<\/em> in October 2025. \u201cBut by way of losing people, we\u2019re also adding some really fun guest forged. It\u2019s a revolving door of individuals from Sharon\u2019s past and latest faces which might be exciting to bring conflict and secrets and twists and turns.\u201d<\/p>\n

Napolitano teased how the show can have to balance \u201creally spicing it up\u201d while still walking a \u201chigh-quality line\u201d of paying tribute to the loss.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we\u2019ve done is basically thread the needle of honoring \u2014 especially Vince \u2014 because Gabriella is gone, but she\u2019s gone to a pleased and successful life. She\u2019s still on the market. But we actually walk this line of honoring Vince while also finding hope slightly quickly,\u201d she noted. \u201cLooking forward, the theme of the season is rising from the ashes and recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n
