I\u2019ve really gotten the sense that the Edmonton Oilers were potentially going to be approaching Darnell Nurse to see if he\u2019d be willing to waive that no-trade. And I believe the purpose that Darnell Nurse and his camp make with that is that, yes, the time has come.<\/p>\n

The thing to know here is that he\u2019s got a full no-move right away, so he controls this example right away. That changes next yr. He\u2019s got a 10-team list next yr, and he loses a few of that control. So, if this example is coming to an end, it could make sense that Nurse desires to get ahead of it while he can control the method a bit bit more.\u201d<\/p>\n

Onrait: \u201cRyan, top 4D men don\u2019t come available on the market fairly often, but it is a guy with a captain of over $9 million for the subsequent 4 seasons. So what do you see the return for the Oilers looking like here?<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not quite as convinced. I can\u2019t help but think the Oilers might give you the option to get, you realize, an honest return here for Darnell Nurse. This guy plays over 20 minutes, you realize, an evening. He’s nothing but healthy, I mean, the last 4 seasons he\u2019s barely missed any time in any respect.<\/p>\n

And I do know he\u2019s not the right player, and I do know that his salary at over $9 million is heavy. But when the Oilers are willing to retain a bit bit on that salary, I do think they might get an honest return here for Darnell Nurse.<\/p>\n

Three Teams That Darnell Nurse Would Okay a Trade Too, and Some Oilers Fallout<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t consider that is going to be considered one of those ones where you may have to strap a high draft pick or something to his back to get him to maneuver. I believe there’s a hockey trade here to be made with the best combination of retaining salary and, in fact, bringing the best asset back.<\/p>\n
