James Barker<\/strong> was an element of the Love Island USA<\/em> family, and his death left the crew heartbroken. In response to ITV and Peacock, the late 40-year-old executive producer died after an \u201cunexpected medical emergency\u201d while filming the show\u2019s eighth season in Fiji, the networks confirmed in an announcement.<\/p>\n

\u201cJames\u2019 unimaginable loss has been deeply felt across not only all the Love Island USA<\/em> production, but throughout all of ITV and Peacock,\u201d ITV America and Peacock\u2019s statement read, based on NBC News<\/a>. \u201cHe was a beloved and greatly valued member of our collective family whose kindness, talent and dedication left an indelible mark on all of us and everybody who had the privilege of knowing and dealing with him. We extend our heartfelt condolences to James\u2019 family, friends and colleagues.\u201d<\/p>\n

James Began His TV Producing Profession in 2011<\/h2>\n

Barker began his television producing profession in 2011, working with Leftfield Pictures in 2011 on the productions\u00a0Counting Cars, Forged in Fire<\/em> and Pawn Stars. <\/em><\/p>\n

James Worked on Queer Eye<\/h2>\n

Before joining Love Island USA<\/em> and Love Island Games<\/em> as an EP, Barker produced Queer Eye<\/em> with ITV America.<\/p>\n

James\u2019 Partner Is an Executive for the Recording Academy<\/h2>\n

Barker had a loving and supportive partner in Adam Roth, the chief vp of the Global Partnerships & Business Development team at The Recording Academy.<\/p>\n

Roth called Barker the \u201cabsolute light and love of my life\u201d in an announcement to NBC News, shortly after Barker\u2019s death was announced.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe brought joy and brilliance to every part he touched,\u201d Roth wrote. \u201cJames was such a champion of the community of young music artists he was in a position to introduce to audiences on Love Island. James Died in Fiji While Working on Love Island USA\u00a0<\/em><\/h2>\n

In response to ITV and Peacock, Barker died while working on season 8 of Love Island USA<\/em> in Fiji after affected by an undisclosed medical emergency.<\/p>\n
