Ukrainian drones breached newly-strengthened air defences in Moscow and seriously damaged the Kapotnya Oil Refinery in Russia.<\/p>\n

As world leaders convened in France for the G7 summit, flames engulfed the vital refinery just ten miles from the Kremlin, sending smoke billowing into the skyline.<\/p>\n

The strike was one other blow to the Kremlin, just as a Ukrainian campaign of attacks on oil installations was starting to significantly hurt the Russian economy.<\/p>\n

Flights were suspended in any respect 4 major\u00a0Moscow\u00a0airports \u2013 Domodedovo, Sheremetyevo, Vnukovo, and Zhukovsky \u2013 triggering travel chaos.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The surge of\u00a0drones within the breakfast-time onslaught is certainly one of the heaviest against\u00a0Moscow\u00a0in your complete four-year war.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Moscow\u00a0mayor Sergei Sobyanin, a detailed Putin ally, claimed no less than 60\u00a0drones had been shot down, but he admitted damage had been caused to the refinery, adding there have been no casualties.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018Over the past 24 hours, enemy\u00a0drones have continued to attack\u00a0Moscow. Certainly one of the\u00a0drones damaged a facility on the\u00a0Moscow\u00a0Refinery. There have been no casualties,\u2019 he added.<\/p>\n

The Kapotnya\u00a0refinery supplies as much as 40% of the capital\u2019s overall fuel market and 70% of\u00a0Moscow\u00a0and the encompassing region\u2019s petrol needs.<\/p>\n

The hit got here despite recent efforts to strengthen town\u2019s air defences. The refinery is the very best protected in Russia, yet the defences were breached.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, a residential constructing was hit by a downed\u00a0drone\u00a0within the suburb\u00a0of Elektrostal,\u00a0Moscow, and one other hit a constructing under construction in\u00a0the Kotelniki district.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Ukraine hit an enormous fuel depot within the village of Poltava in Krasnodar region, 240 miles from the frontline, and the important thing Palkino pumping station on the Baltic Pipeline System in Yaroslavl region, 150 miles north of\u00a0Moscow.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The constant Ukraine strikes at Russia\u2019s oil hubs are beginning to cripple the Russian economy, with fuel rationing or shortages in no less than 25\u00a0regions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The attacks come after Volodymyr Zelensky revealed on his strategy to the G7 summit with Western leaders that Putin had rejected a brand new Ukrainian initiative for peace talks.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018We offered to satisfy anywhere where real decisions might be made to finish the war. He doesn\u2019t want that,\u2019 he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018We discussed with the US and France the potential of a gathering with Russia on the sidelines of the G7 summit involving all democratic states, but Putin doesn\u2019t want that either.\u2019<\/p>\n

The strike follows a Russian missile and\u00a0drone\u00a0blitzkrieg on the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on Monday, when five were killed, and large damage was inflicted on an Eleventh-century cathedral.\u00a0<\/p>\n
