Within the immediate aftermath of Sunday\u2019s fights, fans called out Ciryl Gane hitting Pereira at the back of the top multiple times when attempting to secure the finish.<\/p>\n

Sean O\u2019Malley reveals backstage conversation between Alex Pereira and UFC referee<\/h2>\n

Sean O\u2019Malley recapped his win over Aiemann Zahabi within the early hours of Monday morning following the UFC event on the White House.<\/p>\n

Through the video on his YouTube channel<\/a>, \u2018Suga\u2019 revealed some insight into what happened backstage when running through every bout on the cardboard.<\/p>\n

O\u2019Malley highlighted that Alex Pereira specifically had a conversation with the referee about shots landing to the back of the top before this became a talking point in his loss to Ciryl Gane.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the foundations meeting when Pereira was talking to the ref, they were having the translator go over back of the top,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n

O\u2019Malley referenced Gane\u2019s win over Junior dos Santos that led to similar comments about illegal fouls when confirming that that is what Pereira was talking to the referee about.<\/p>\n

The previous UFC bantamweight\u2019s coach also noticed something price highlighting when seeing \u2018Poatan\u2019 prepare for his heavyweight debut.<\/p>\n

Tim Welch recalled that Pereira was warming up for around three hours, but didn\u2019t have someone that would replicate Gane\u2019s stance with him.<\/p>\n

\u201cPereira wasn\u2019t sparring or he didn\u2019t have any southpaw partners,\u201d Welch said. \u201cHe\u2019s sparring all orthodox guys. He\u2019s got all orthodox guys in his corner.\u201d<\/p>\n
