A Darnell Nurse trade to the Pittsburgh Penguins seems unlikely, but\u2026<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Dan Kingerski of Pittsburgh Hockey Now<\/strong><\/a>: (as of Friday) Haven\u2019t been able to verify or deny the report that the Pittsburgh Penguins are considered one of the teams that Edmonton Oilers defenseman Darnell Nurse would okay a trade to.<\/p>\n

The 31-year-old has 4 years left on his contract at $9.25 million. He can move the puck, plays physical, but is vulnerable to making some mistakes, and is a fourth or fifth defenseman, based on Sportsnet Mark Spector. Will the Oilers need to connect an asset to maneuver him?<\/p>\n

Nurse\u2019s reference to Penguins GM Kyle Dubas runs back to Junior and the Soo Greyhounds. The Penguins could use a left-handed defenseman with size and puck-moving ability.<\/p>\n

A trade to the Penguins does seem unlikely, nevertheless it\u2019s possible. The Oilers could use some scoring wingers, goaltending, and a Nurse substitute. It\u2019s believed the Oiles tried to accumulate Arturs Silovs from the Canucks before the Penguins acquired him.<\/p>\n

Why Now, and Will the Edmonton Oilers Must Attach an Asset to Move Darnell Nurse?<\/p>\n

Do the Penguins want more picks (as a sweetener) as they\u2019re already seeking to move out some second-round picks? Doubtful the Oilers would want to incorporate Matthew Savoie in a trade.<\/p>\n

Would the Oilers be willing to take the lesser contract of Ryan Graves, who has three years left at $4.5 million?<\/p>\n

Will the Vancouver Canucks be willing to tackle bad contracts for assets?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Sekeres and Price<\/strong><\/a>: Jeff Marek on Friday, wondering if Vancouver Canucks ownership is willing to tackle bad contracts and spend the cash to accumulate extra assets.<\/p>\n

\u201cRemind us again, who\u2019s one win away from winning the Stanley Cup, and remind me of the popularity of that owner, and remind me of the pay scale of that team.<\/p>\n

Spending money doesn\u2019t all the time equal wins. Now, I believe you should have an order that can use money as a resource, and the one area that I have a look at for the Vancouver Canucks is, are you willing to eat bad contracts for draft picks and prospects?<\/p>\n
