On June 14, Bollywood Hungama<\/strong> was among the many first to tell readers that the much-awaited Cocktail 2<\/em> has been granted an ‘A’ certificate by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). In this text, we\u2019ll exclusively concentrate on the cuts given to the Shahid Kapoor-Kriti Sanon-Rashmika Mandanna starrer.<\/p>\n

EXCLUSIVE: CBFC passes Cocktail 2 with NO visual cuts; \u2018Agni\u2019 modified to \u2018Diya\u2019, \u2018Jew on the run\u2019 reference censored<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The excellent news is that the CBFC has not made any visual cuts. Hence, all of the romantic and intimate scenes are left untouched. Nonetheless, a couple of audio modifications were asked to be made. A cuss word, which was mentioned within the subtitle, was asked to be removed. The word ‘Agni’ was replaced with ‘Diya’ wherever it occurred within the film.<\/p>\n

Lastly, a reference to ‘Jew on the run’ was censored. The CBFC order doesn’t specify the context wherein the phrase was utilized in the film. Hence, it’s unclear whether it referred to any specific work, a person or was merely used as a generic expression.<\/p>\n

Once these changes were made, Cocktail 2<\/em> was passed with an ‘A’ certificate on June 16. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, is 149.19 minutes. In other words, Cocktail 2 is 2 hours, 29 minutes and 19 seconds long.<\/p>\n

Cocktail<\/em>‘s first part, which released in 2012, starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and debutante Diana Penty. Like Cocktail 2, it was directed by Homi Adajania, produced by Dinesh Vijan\u2019s Maddock Movies and its music was composed by Pritam Chakraborty. The second part is written by Tarun Jain and Luv Ranjan and together with Maddock, can also be produced by Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg’s Luv Movies.<\/p>\n

Cocktail <\/em>2 releases in cinemas on June 19. It becomes the first-ever adult-rated film of Kriti Sanon\u2019s 12-year profession. For Rashmika Mandanna, it marks her second \u2018A\u2019-rated Hindi film after the blockbuster Animal <\/em>(2023). As for Shahid Kapoor, that is the fifth adult-rated film of his profession after Kaminey <\/em>(2009), Udta Punjab <\/em>(2016), Kabir Singh <\/em>(2019) and O’Romeo<\/em> (2026). Interestingly, O’Romeo<\/em> was also his last release, which implies that for the primary time in his profession, Shahid can have two consecutive adult-rated movies.<\/p>\n
