While Dana White was comfortable with how UFC’s White House Freedom 250 event went, it allegedly almost led to tragedy as FBI Director Kash Patel claimed Tuesday the agency thwarted \u201cplanned attacks\u201d in the course of the show.<\/p>\n

Five people from Ohio, Missouri, and California were arrested for his or her involvement<\/a> in these alleged \u201cplanned attacks.\u201d ESPN’s report relays via ABC News sources that \u201cthe plot included explosive drones that were to focus on buildings in the world of the event.\u201d In total in the course of the event, 14 arrests were made. These were made for various charges, starting from disorderly conduct to drug possession.<\/p>\n

Patel revealed that they were first tipped off in regards to the potential threat<\/a> on Wednesday, June 10. He praised the work of the FBI and the Department of Justice for his or her quick work.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn June 10, FBI and our law enforcement partners became aware of a possible threat to the UFC America 250 event in Washington, D.C. involving individuals outside of the National Capital Region \u2013 and due to the rapid motion of this FBI, our partners, and the Department of Justice in a multi-state operation, multiple individuals at the moment are in custody and allegedly planned attacks were stopped cold,\u201d he wrote. \u201d While the result represented one of the best of investigative work, it was also nothing out of the extraordinary for this law enforcement team \u2013 we’re built to detect, reply to, and produce to justice those that threaten the lives of Americans \u2013 particularly during large gatherings just like the historic UFC 250 fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat\u2019s exactly what we did here. I need to thank our great agents and partners, this work stays ongoing and we are going to proceed to update the general public as permitted,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

UFC Freedom 250 was held on the South Lawn of the White House on Sunday, June 14, on President Donald Trump’s eightieth birthday.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
