Conor McGregor predicts potential Justin Gaethje fight <\/h2>\n

On Tuesday, Conor McGregor was asked how he matches up against the present UFC champions at lightweight and welterweight. <\/p>\n

The previous dual-weight UFC champion responded by talking up his likelihood of beating Justin Gaethje.<\/p>\n

\u201cI could be after the belts, obviously,\u201d McGregor said on The Ariel Helwani Show. <\/p>\n

\u201cGaethje, when he\u2019s on, he\u2019s good, he\u2019s okay. But when he\u2019s off, he\u2019s atrocious.<\/p>\n

\u201cI fancy him handily. I fancy teeing off on Gaethje.\u201d<\/p>\n

McGregor seemed less confident when talking about Islam Makhachev, but he welcomed that fight, too.<\/p>\n

\u201cIslam, there\u2019s history there,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI do know he\u2019s fighting my fellow Irishman [Ian Machado Garry], who I\u2019ve also trained with. <\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m open for it. I\u2019m open for either.\u201d<\/p>\n

Conor McGregor hasn\u2019t fought since breaking his leg during a trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier in July 2021.<\/p>\n

Five years later, \u2018Mystic Mac\u2019 is ready to make his comeback within the foremost event of UFC 329 next month.<\/p>\n

McGregor will face Max Holloway in a five-round welterweight fight on the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on July 11. <\/p>\n

\u2018Blessed\u2019 was beaten over three rounds once they first fought as featherweight prospects in 2013.<\/p>\n

Holloway is the favourite to win their rematch, but when McGregor pulls off the upset, title fights with Justin Gaethje and Islam Makhachev change into an actual possibility. <\/p>\n
