After 30 litres of rain fell on a city in Spain in only 20 minutes, rivers changed into roads, and locals shouted for help as water knocked them over.<\/p>\n

Pedestrians were knocked off their feet, and motorists were overtaken by floating wheelie bins in the course of the downpour in Jaen, Spain. <\/p>\n

Footage of the dramatic weather event around 8pm yesterday showed people shouting for help because the cascading water knocked them off their feet and prevented them from getting back up,<\/p>\n

A person was pictured being carried down a city street as if he were in the midst of a raging river.<\/p>\n

The ferocious storm lifted up paving stones and made cafe and bar terraces where people had been having fun with the sunshine yesterday into flood zones.<\/p>\n

The storm only lasted 20 minutes, but caused chaos in Jaen and the encompassing areas.<\/p>\n

Police and firefighters received 110 calls about flooding in garages and basements. <\/p>\n

Council officials in town announced a \u2018pre-emergency\u2019 phase after the violent downpour, as they worked through the night to try to revive normality. <\/p>\n

Around 30 litres of rain fell in only 20 minutes, in line with local weather chiefs, and there have been power cuts in several areas. <\/p>\n

This morning, it was confirmed that nobody had been hurt despite the dramatic scenes in town of 110,000.<\/p>\n

One local caught up within the storm said last night: \u2018What I\u2019ve just experienced was incredible.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n

One other, Maria del Mar Sanchez, said: \u2018I\u2019ve never seen anything like this in my f##king lifetime. Amazing.\u2019<\/p>\n
