Keep the press coming!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The statement got here a day after court records confirmed that Mayweather is facing two felony charges: theft of property valued at $100,000 or more and drawing or passing a check with intent to defraud valued at $1,200 or more. The fees are linked to a $200,000 watch purchase at the posh resale store Gold and Beyond in Las Vegas.<\/p>\n<p>The alleged incident occurred in December 2024 when Mayweather wrote a $200,000 check drawn on a Wells Fargo account, based on Nevada court filings. Prosecutors claim the account had \u201cinsufficient money, property, or credit\u201d on the time the check was issued and that the transaction was accomplished \u201cknowing that the check wouldn&#8217;t be paid when presented.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Court documents also state the check was used to buy an Audemars Piguet watch on December 25, 2024, while the payment was made on December 31, 2024. Authorities further allege the shop attempted to resolve the matter privately for over a 12 months before filing a criticism with the Clark County District Attorney\u2019s office in February.<\/p>\n<p>Legal filings show Mayweather didn&#8217;t appear at a recent Clark County court hearing, as an alternative being represented by counsel. His next scheduled court date is September 17.<\/p>\n<p>If convicted, the felony theft charge alone carries a possible prison sentence starting from 1 to twenty years under Nevada law, together with fines of as much as $15,000.
