Jiri Prochazka is reportedly being lined up for a high stakes clash with Paulo Costa.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In April, Prochazka received criticism from Carlos Ulberg for the comments that he made after the 2 men met in a vacant title fight in the sunshine heavyweight division.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

A respectful construct to the fight turned sour within the aftermath of UFC 327 attributable to the Czech fighter\u2019s thoughts on why he lost despite his opponent suffering a big injury.<\/p>\n

While Prochazka originally said he wanted to return back in October, it looks like the previous champion might be back prior to he expected.<\/p>\n

Jiri Prochazka vs Paulo Costa reportedly within the works for UFC 330 on August 15<\/h2>\n

While many dismissed Jiri Prochazka calling for a rematch with Carlos Ulberg, the Czech fighter did name other opponents he\u2019d be eager about fighting next.<\/p>\n

Via The Bohnfire<\/a> podcast, MMA Junkie\u2019s Mike Bohn said that while nothing is confirmed, Prochazka facing Paulo Costa at UFC 330 is within the works.<\/p>\n

The previous middleweight title challenger put his name in the combo at the highest of the 205-pound division by becoming the primary man to beat Azamat Murzakanov back in April.<\/p>\n

Dana White already announced that Islam Makhachev will face Ian Machado Garry within the major event of UFC 330, which takes place on August 15 from the Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

While Ulberg believes he\u2019ll be back prior to expected, the injury he suffered when winning the vacant light heavyweight title may keep him out of motion for the remainder of the 12 months.<\/p>\n

This led to questions over whether the UFC should create an interim title with the intention to keep the division busy.<\/p>\n

Prochazka taking over Costa looks like an obvious candidate for this, but with the reported Mackenzie Dern vs Gillian Robertson title fight now confirmed for UFC 330, it seems unlikely that the cardboard might be a triple-header.<\/p>\n

One other big light heavyweight matchup will happen at the top of July when Magomed Ankalaev faces Khalil Rountree Jr. in Abu Dhabi.<\/p>\n
