Christian Mbilli\u2019s promoter believes the unbeaten WBC super middleweight champion is able to do greater than defeat Saul \u201cCanelo\u201d Alvarez on September 12. He believes Mbilli can take over as boxing\u2019s biggest star.<\/p>\n

Mbilli (29-0-1, 24 KOs) will defend his WBC title against Canelo in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in considered one of the largest fights of his profession. The Canada-based fighter was elevated to full champion after Terence Crawford vacated the belt following his retirement.<\/p>\n

Promoter Camille Estephan said Mbilli is ready to profit from the chance.<\/p>\n

\u201cI consider Mbilli has what it takes to make use of this platform to indicate that he\u2019s primary in the game,\u201d Estephan said to Sky Sports Boxing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Canelo (63-3-2, 39 KOs) stays considered one of boxing\u2019s most recognizable names despite losing a unanimous decision to Crawford last September. The defeat cost him the WBC, WBA, WBO, and IBF super middleweight titles and ended his reign because the division\u2019s undisputed champion.<\/p>\n

While Estephan acknowledged that Canelo\u2019s motivation for taking the fight is evident, he questioned whether the Mexican star will have the opportunity to reclaim the belt.<\/p>\n

\u201cI consider Canelo desires to fight Mbilli to take back the WBC belt, and that is nice enough reason,\u201d Estephan said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow whether he can take it back or not is a distinct story.<\/p>\n

\u201cMbilli just isn’t going to Riyadh for anything lower than an emphatic victory.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
