Last yr, Martin Buday was surprisingly cut from the UFC roster after going 7-1 within the heavyweight division.<\/p>\n

The Slovakian then made the choice to return to his former home, European promotion OKTAGON, where he jumped right right into a title fight.<\/p>\n

Fans then urged the UFC to sign Will Fleury after he defended his heavyweight title by stopping Buday in the primary round, but while conversations did occur, the Irishman ended up staying put.<\/p>\n

Will Fleury got here to the conclusion following UFC offer that he\u2019d be giving quite a bit away to sign for them<\/h2>\n

Conor McGregor praised Will Fleury last yr after his former teammate became a two-weight world champion in OKTAGON.<\/p>\n

The Irishman is back at OKTAGON 90 on June 20 to defend the heavyweight belt against Kasim Aras after committing himself to the promotion with a brand new contract.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview with Bloody Elbow, Fleury spoke about receiving what he described as a little bit of an \u201cinsulting\u201d contract offer from the UFC following his win over Martin Buday.<\/p>\n

While competing for the highest promotion in the game is a goal most fighters can be aiming for, Fleury has readjusted his focus to understand what he has in front of him already.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhenever you take a look at it, actually following that path involves probably fighting on an undercard in Kansas for f\u2014 all money or you understand, fighting within the Apex in front of little or no fans\u2026 It might take something very, very special to get me to trade this,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Proving himself by beating someone like Buday who had quite a lot of success within the UFC was an enormous moment for Fleury.<\/p>\n

He admits that while OKTAGON probably wanted his opponent to win that fight, each parties have done quite a bit for one another and he\u2019s been given some big opportunities.<\/p>\n

Becoming a star within the promotion due to his performances in big title fights that bring quite a lot of atmosphere meant that while Fleury would have liked to tick the UFC off the list, the grass isn\u2019t all the time greener on the opposite side.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s sort of like, well, you continue to don\u2019t see the worth in me. That\u2019s what it felt like\u2026 In a way, I didn\u2019t want to provide all that up either because I worked rattling hard to get to that place,\u201d Fleury added. \u201cBut, it was like, in case you want me to provide that up, you\u2019ve got to are available with something great and it was nowhere near that.\u201d<\/p>\n
