Right away, my worldly possessions consist of a bikini, flip-flops, a pair of trainers, a sunbathing sheet and towel, a pair of shorts, a T-shirt and, thankfully, my phone.\u2019<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"861\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/SEI_302059477-8571.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all&#038;w=646\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28842545\" alt=\"British woman's Care Bear she had for 40 years stolen on Spanish beach\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Sarah shared photo of her stolen rucksack and bears (Picture: Sarah Candy)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The keep-fit fanatic, who in April ran the London Marathon, added: \u2018So while I wait in Spain for emergency travel documents to get me home, not less than I\u2019ve got all of the essentials covered.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018I\u2019m still holding out hope that Care Bear might by some means find his way back to me. After nearly 42 years together, I\u2019d hate for our adventures to finish like this.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>After local media in San Sebastian highlighted her appeal, which she posted on Spanish-language sites with the assistance of an AI translation, Sarah updated followers from her hotel in San Sebastian near Spain\u2019s border with France with the message: \u2018The emergency passport has arrived and my flight house is booked for this evening, so thankfully I only have just a few more hours of tolerating this terrible hardship.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"img-container shareable-item wp-caption\">\n<div class=\"img-wrap\">\n\t\t<img width=\"646\" height=\"861\" src=\"https:\/\/metro.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/SEI_302059354-1502.jpg?quality=90&#038;strip=all&#038;w=646\" class=\"article-image wp-image-28842540\" alt=\"British woman's Care Bear she had for 40 years stolen on Spanish beach\" decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\">\t<\/div><figcaption>Fitness fanatic Sarah ran in April\u2019s London marathon (Picture: Sarah Candy)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u2018It\u2019s been a reasonably unexpected extension to my Spanish holiday, but there are definitely worse places to be stranded while waiting for paperwork.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018As for Care Bear, I\u2019m still holding out hope that he eventually gets bored with the cocktails, sunshine and a focus he\u2019s been getting in San Sebastian and decides it\u2019s time to make his way home.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Sarah, who now lives in Castleford, West Yorks, added: \u2018I\u2019m planning on returning to San Sebastian next Wednesday to see if the police have found anything.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>One San Sebastian resident replied: \u2018I hope you strike lucky and get your belongings back.
