Tommy Dreamer\u2019s departure from TNA has sparked a wave of stories from wrestlers and personalities sharing negative experiences, but Michael Elgin says his interactions with the veteran were very different.<\/p>\n

Taking to social media, Elgin said he couldn’t speak on the claims being made by others, but based on his own experiences, Dreamer was at all times supportive and helpful. He also noted that Dreamer stood by him when he was coping with issues involving TNA, despite not being in a significant position of power on the time. He wrote,<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t speak on what some are claiming Dreamer said to them. All I can say is I even have never personally seen Dreamer be anything but helpful to talent. He was also very supportive of me when the problems with TNA arose, but he wasn\u2019t in a top role then.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Referee Perch claimed that Dreamer once pulled him aside backstage at a TNA event and warned him that he would be certain he never found work within the industry. In keeping with Perch, the interaction was especially discouraging because he was still attempting to learn and establish himself in wrestling. He wrote,<\/p>\n

\u201cTommy Dreamer pulled me aside backstage at a TNA show, telling me he would do every little thing he could to be certain I don\u2019t earn a job within the wrestling business. All I did was attempt to learn and grow from experiences, though his words were very discouraging for a young student to listen to.\u201d<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Carlie Bravo also shared a story involving Dreamer, claiming he was told that while Dreamer thought he was talented, he didn’t know the right way to present him to a wider audience as a \u201ccocky black guy.\u201d Bravo said the comments ultimately didn’t stop him from staying true to himself and finding success. He wrote,<\/p>\n

\u201cHe told me I used to be very talented but couldn\u2019t hire me cuz \u2018he didn\u2019t know if he could market \u2018cocky black guy\u2019 to the world\u2019. Useless to say, I\u2019m on top of the sport and never modified one bit.\u201d<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n
