Riding on the box office returns of Border 2<\/em>, producer Nidhi Dutta has unveiled an ambitious five-title slate at JP Movies, the banner founded by her father, filmmaker JP Dutta. The projects span military dramas, a war hero biopic, a digital series on her grandfather, and a treasure-hunt franchise rooted in Indian history and mythology. She revealed her plans during an interview with Variety India.<\/p>\n Nidhi Dutta unveils JP Movies\u2019 five-project slate: Border 3, General Harbaksh Singh biopic and more<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Probably the most distinguished title on the slate is Border 3<\/em>, currently in early development in partnership with Bhushan Kumar. Dutta said the third instalment \u201crepresents our continued commitment to telling stories of bravery and national pride on the most important possible canvas.\u201d<\/p>\n Alongside the franchise, JP Movies can also be developing a biopic on war hero General Harbaksh Singh, who commanded the Indian Army in the course of the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965 and was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1966. \u201cThe film goals to bring a vital chapter of Indian military history to a brand new generation while telling the story of a person whose courage shaped history,\u201d Dutta said.<\/p>\n The third military project is a up to date Air Force drama set during and after Operation Sindoor, focused on the non-public and emotional costs of service. \u201cWhile it delivers scale and motion, it’s ultimately a deeply human story about duty, family, and sacrifice,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Marking a distinct direction for the banner, Dutta can also be developing a large-scale treasure-hunt action-adventure film conceived as the primary entry in a three-part franchise. \u201cWe expect it to be among the many first projects to maneuver into production. It\u2019s the primary time I\u2019ve written something like this and it\u2019s a franchise film, so it’s going to have two more parts,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Rounding out the slate is a long-form digital series on her grandfather, filmmaker OP Dutta, described by Nidhi because the studio\u2019s most personal project.
