Georges St-Pierre has admitted that he can see the case that fellow MMA legend Demetrious Johnson made around why one UFC star should walk away from the game.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Demetrious Johnson, who’s widely thought to be among the finest MMA fighters of all time, took to his YouTube channel within the aftermath of UFC Freedom 250 this month.<\/p>\n

The 39-year-old UFC legend insisted that he felt that Justin Gaethje should consider retirement after the MMA fighter\u2019s sensational win over Ilia Topuria in Washington.<\/p>\n

Justin Gaethje was crowned the UFC lightweight champion after a corner stoppage within the fourth round led to Ilia Topuria suffering his first profession defeat.<\/p>\n

Georges St-Pierre thinks Demetrious Johnson couldn’t have been more right about Justin Gaethje\u2019s current position<\/h2>\n

The UFC lightweight title had eluded Justin Gaethje before he defied the percentages and overcame the once-undefeated Ilia Topuria in UFC White House\u2019s co-main event.<\/p>\n

Gaethje was the interim lightweight champion going into UFC Freedom 250 after he defeated Paddy Pimblett by unanimous decision at UFC 324 in Las Vegas in January.<\/p>\n

The 37-year-old American\u2019s quest for the UFC lightweight title had previously seen him fall short to Charles Oliveira and MMA legend Khabib Nurmagomedov.<\/p>\n

Speaking on The Break Talk\u2019s<\/a> YouTube channel, Georges St-Pierre admitted that Demetrious Johnson was right about Gaethje having nothing left to prove now.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s the form of guy that works really hard and he comes back from adversity,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s really inspiring to see what he has completed. You would possibly not like what I\u2019m going to say, but when I were him, because I like him, retirement.<\/p>\n

\u201cI heard Demetrious Johnson said it [about retirement], but that\u2019s what I’d do. That will be a tremendous ending [for Gaethje]. What else does he want to perform? He did all of it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Gaethje has won 28 of his 33 skilled fights and the UFC lightweight champion has remained cryptic on his long-term future on the earth of combat sports.<\/p>\n

St-Pierre admitted that cash could possibly be a significant incentive for Gaethje to proceed fighting, but he feels that the American could bow out on the last word high point.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, for money [Gaethje stays],\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
