The Minnesota Timberwolves are trading Julius Randle and a first-round pick to the Brooklyn Nets as a part of a three-team deal that also includes the Chicago Bulls, an individual with knowledge of the terms said Monday night.<\/p>\n
The Timberwolves are sending the twenty eighth pick in Tuesday\u2019s draft to the Nets and will likely be receiving the No. 33 pick that will likely be made within the second round on Wednesday night, said the one who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity since the deal has not received the required approvals from the league office.<\/p>\n
ESPN, which first reported the deal, also said the Bulls can be receiving Nic Claxton from Brooklyn within the trade.<\/p>\n
For Minnesota, the trade opens up a slew of monetary possibilities. It creates a $33 million trade exception, plus gave the Timberwolves room they’ll use to re-sign Ayo Dosunmu \u2014 which ESPN said later Monday would occur in the shape of a five-year deal that may very well be value $112 million \u2014 and goal more players in free agency.<\/p>\n
Dosunmu had a 43-point game off the bench through the opening round of this 12 months\u2019s playoffs, when Minnesota ousted Denver.<\/p>\n
Randle, a three-time All-Star, will likely be moving to his fifth team after stints with Recent York, the Los Angeles Lakers, Recent Orleans and the Timberwolves. He averaged 21.1 points this past season, though shot just 39% from the sector and 24% from 3-point range in Minnesota\u2019s 12 playoff contests.<\/p>\n
Claxton just finished his seventh NBA season, all with Brooklyn. He averaged 11.7 points this past season.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
