The mother of two boys found dead in a automobile has been charged with \u2018involuntary manslaughter\u2019 after giving different versions of events to police as to how they got locked in.<\/p>\n

The boys, aged 4 and a pair of, were found to have suffered heart attacks in sweltering 40C heat in Carpentras, south of France, on Monday\u00a0afternoon.<\/p>\n

Prosecutors initially reported the youngsters had \u2018allegedly locked themselves\u2019 contained in the vehicle without their mother\u2019s knowledge.<\/p>\n

But it surely has now emerged that the boys\u2019 mother claimed to have \u2018forgotten her children\u2019 while shopping, French each day\u00a0Le Parisien said, citing a police source.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

A source near the investigation told AFP that the mother gave police several different versions of events.\u00a0\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n

In her revised statement, the mother said the youngsters got contained in the automobile without her knowing, locked the doors behind them, and have become trapped inside, without her knowledge.<\/p>\n

H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Mourges, the Carpentras prosecutor, has opened a preliminary enquiry into the \u2018unintentional manslaughter\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018She first claimed she had left them within the automobile upon coming back from a shopping trip.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018Later, she stated that that they had climbed back inside without her knowledge while she was unloading her groceries.\u2019<\/p>\n

Her original statement to police was that she had left the youngsters to sleep behind the automobile, following a shopping trip.<\/p>\n

According Le\u00a0Dauphin\u00e9 Lib\u00e9r\u00e9<\/a>\u00a0, the 2 children took advantage of their mother\u2019s inattention to go outside and play. <\/p>\n

They then climbed into the automobile parked within the driveway, before the doors closed, trapping them inside. \u2018By the point the mother realised they were gone, it was already too late\u2019, they reported.<\/p>\n

Police and firefighters were called to the scene around 1.10pm, in keeping with La Provence<\/a>, but efforts to avoid wasting the youngsters were unsuccessful.<\/p>\n

Europe, very similar to the UK, is enduring a record-breaking heatwave, with highs of greater than 40C in parts of France.<\/p>\n

Emergency services and the military have been placed on a wildfire alert throughout the country.<\/p>\n
