For the second week in a row, a UFC fighter has taken issue with Herb Dean over shots to the back of the top.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Alex Pereira was critical of Dean when reflecting on his interim heavyweight title loss that took place on the White House.<\/p>\n

\u2018Poatan\u2019 is adamant that Ciryl Gane hit him several times behind the top, which he says must have been addressed by the referee.<\/p>\n

After Dean defended his actions by explaining what counts as an illegal strike, the same conversation arose during a fight on the Apex this past Saturday.<\/p>\n

Andre Fili vents his frustrations over taking shots to the back of his head in UFC Vegas 119 loss<\/h2>\n

Alex Pereira said Herb Dean must retire when sharing his response to the featherweight matchup between Andre Fili and Vinicius Oliveira.<\/p>\n

At UFC Vegas 119, Fili was stopped within the second round and was seen speaking with the referee after the stoppage, as he felt he was hit behind the top in the course of the ending sequence.<\/p>\n

The Octagon veteran recently backed up his point by sharing a screenshot from the fight that shows what he believes was an illegal strike.<\/p>\n

\u201cJust gonna leave this here,\u201d Fili wrote on his Instagram story. \u201cVery clearly back of the top. That is the shot that dropped me. Not a clean punch, not a body shot. If this shot doesn\u2019t occur, or is addressed by the referee, the fight goes to a 3rd round. That\u2019s my frustration. I wanted and deserved the prospect to maintain fighting.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pereira believes that Gane wouldn\u2019t have survived the fight and has made similar comments about his own ability to get better if he hadn\u2019t been hit behind the top.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian\u2019s scenario was much greater because Gane has been accused of being a grimy fighter previously, not to say that it happened in a title fight.<\/p>\n

Pereira specifically spoke to a referee backstage about strikes landing to the back of the top before he made the walk on the White House lawn on June 14.<\/p>\n
