The San Jose Sharks announced Tuesday that they’ve agreed to terms with defenseman Nolan Allan on a two-year contract extension<\/a>. The deal carries a median annual value of $875,000, which runs through the 2027-28 season.<\/p>\n

Allan, 23, was set to turn into a restricted free agent without arbitration rights before the Sharks finalized the extension. The primary season of the deal is a two-way agreement that can pay him $850,000 on the NHL level and $300,000 within the American Hockey League, with a guaranteed minimum salary of $375,000, in line with PuckPedia. Allan’s NHL experience got here through the 2024-25 season with Chicago, where he appeared in 43 games and amassed eight points on one goal and 7 assists while averaging 15:08 of ice time per game. During that campaign, he logged a minus-13 rating.<\/p>\n

Originally chosen by the Blackhawks with the thirty second overall pick in the primary round of the 2021 NHL Draft, Allan built a formidable junior resume within the WHL. He played 203 profession games with the Prince Albert Raiders and Seattle Thunderbirds, accumulating 79 points. He helped Seattle win the 2022-23 WHL championship, garnering 10 points in 19 playoff games, and later earned WHL Second All-Star Team and CHL Memorial Cup All-Star Team honors.<\/p>\n
