Paddy Pimblett only discovered after his first UFC loss that he\u2019d been coping with an injury.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Pimblett is targeting a rematch with Justin Gaethje after watching his last opponent unify the lightweight titles earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Baddy\u2019 went five rounds with \u2018The Highlight\u2019 and is hoping to spend more time contained in the Octagon with him if the one man to beat him contained in the Octagon doesn\u2019t retire.<\/p>\n

Pimblett has already admitted to straying from the sport plan in that fight, though he recently revealed that his approach was hindered by an injury.<\/p>\n

Paddy Pimblett says an injury he didn\u2019t notice until after UFC 324 hindered his grappling<\/h2>\n

Following his first UFC loss, many questioned why Paddy Pimblett didn\u2019t attempt to lean on his grappling more within the fight.<\/p>\n

Pimblett explained that being poked within the eyes made it difficult to try to time takedowns resulting from his depth perception being off.<\/p>\n

Nonetheless, when appearing on Demetrious Johnson\u2019s podcast<\/a>, he explained that while he regrets not grappling more, an injury that he didn\u2019t discover until after the fight impacted this.<\/p>\n

\u201cI must have taken him down. I wish I did try to take him down sooner. That\u2019s my very own fault\u2026 I actually discovered only a few weeks ago that I went into that fight with an injury not knowing because I got an MRI scan a few weeks ago and I\u2019ve been nursing that,\u201d Pimblett said. \u201cOn the time, going into that fight, it was quite bad in order that affected me takedowns going into it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Pimblett will look to place this loss behind him when he returns to the Octagon next month.<\/p>\n

Within the immediate aftermath of his outing in January, \u2018The Baddy\u2019 said that the one injuries he was coping with from the fight were to do along with his eyes.<\/p>\n

Despite this, in April, Pimblett stated that he was still coping with injuries initially of his training camp, which may very well be related to the MRI scan that he recently had, though this wasn\u2019t confirmed.<\/p>\n
