Brad Pitt<\/strong> scored a win in his ongoing lawsuit against Angelina Jolie<\/strong> over the exes\u2019 ongoing winery drama.<\/p>\n

In accordance with court documents obtained by Us Weekly<\/em>, the California Court of Appeal sided with Pitt, 62, on Wednesday June 24, overruling a lower court\u2019s decision that allowed Russian businessman Yuri Shefler<\/strong> to walk away from the lawsuit.<\/p>\n

Within the docs, Pitt claimed that after Jolie, 51, sold her shares of the winery to Tenute del Mondo, which is a subsidiary of the Stoli Group, in 2021, he became an \u201cunwilling partner\u201d of Shefler.<\/p>\n

Shefler previously argued in his motion to quash that he had \u201cminimal involvement within the negotiations for Tenute to buy Miraval.\u201d A lower court sided with Shefler, stating that Pitt \u201cdid not present evidence that Shefler purposefully availed himself of the advantages of doing business in California.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBrad Pitt has scored a legal victory amid his ongoing Ch\u00e2teau Miraval winery court battle with ex-wife Angelina Jolie. A judge ruled on May 20 that Pitt\u2019s motion to \u201ccompel\u201d former Stoli General Counsel Todd Culyba for further deposition was \u201cgranted partially,\u201d Us Weekly can confirm. In accordance with court documents obtained by Us on [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Nevertheless, the Court of Appeal found that the agreement to buy Jolie\u2019s shares \u201cwas governed by California law.\u201d The California court ruled that Shelfer\u2019s motion was reversed and that Pitt, plus his investment company, Mondo Bongo, are also allowed to get better costs from their appeal.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was these contacts by Shefler with California in purchasing a California company from a California resident that caused the injury to a different California resident and California company that’s the subject of the lawsuit,\u201d the choice read. \u201cOn these facts, Shefler purposefully availed himself of the advantages of a California forum, and the controversy arose out of his contacts with the forum. We reverse.\u201d<\/p>\n

Jolie\u2019s attorney Paul Murphy<\/strong> addressed the ruling in an announcement to Us<\/em> on Thursday, June 25.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe ruling has no impact on the merits of the case, and definitely has no impact on Ms. Jolie\u2019s case,\u201d the statement read. \u201cAt this point, Ms. Jolie is just looking forward to defeating the case at trial next 12 months in order that their family can finally focus their energies on healing and moving on.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us Weekly<\/em> has reached out to Pitt\u2019s spokesperson for comment.<\/p>\n

Pitt and Jolie were together for 12 years and married from 2014 to 2016. They share six children: Maddox, 24, Pax, 22, Zahara, 21, Shiloh, 20, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 17.<\/p>\n
