Veteran Tamil actor, director and screenwriter K Bhagyaraj passed away this morning in Chennai after suffering a cardiac arrest at 73. The veteran filmmaker\u2019s death has got here as a shock to the Tamil film industry, and several other personalities, including Chiranjeevi, R Madhavan and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, are mourning his demise. While the TN CM visited the deceased\u2019s family, the recently confered Padma winners took to social media and paid emotional tributes.<\/p>\n
As per a video now circulating on social media, K Bhagyaraj\u2019s mortal stays were dropped at his residence in Chennai. Some time later, Tamil Nadu CM Vijay visited the filmmaker\u2019s home to pay his last respects. Here he was seen consoling Bhagyaraj\u2019s son, actor Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, who was visibly devastated and broke down in tears. Vijay was captured hugged him. The CM was later seen comforting Bhagyaraj\u2019s wife, Poornima. <\/p>\n The actor-turned-CM took to X (formerly Twitter) and paid tribute to Bhagyaraj\u2019s decades-long contribution to cinema. While describing his death as an \u201cirreplaceable loss\u201d to Tamil cinema, Vijay announced that Bhagyaraj could be accorded state honours. He tweeted in Tamil, \u201cUpon learning of the passing of Thiru K.
