Last seen waiting hand-in-hand with a \u2018mystery man\u2019 for a lift to an apartment, the body of a teenage girl was found hours later stuffed right into a suitcase and dumped in some bushes.<\/p>\n

The suitcase was opened on national television revealing the corpse of Tunchanok Donhomla, referred to as \u2018little cake\u2019 to family, sparking fresh calls for a crackdown on sex tourism in Thailand.<\/p>\n

The 17-year-old,referred to as \u2018little cake\u2019 to family, had been reported missing at 5pm local time on Friday.<\/p>\n

CCTV footage, allegedly shows Ms Donhomla holding hands with Australian tourist Simon Carman in a condo lobby while waiting for an elevator shortly after 3.30am on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Footage from between 9.25pm and 9.48pm, allegedly shows the tourist identified by police as Carman dragging a black suitcase out of the constructing and leaving on a bike with it strapped behind him. <\/p>\n

As he crosses a railway line, he disappears from view for nine minutes but is seen returning to the hotel at 10.06pm without the suitcase.<\/p>\n

A warrant was put out and Carman was arrested attempting to board a plane back to Australia at Bangkok airport.<\/p>\n

In an apology to the teenager\u2019s family from custody, Carman said: \u2018I feel bad for what happened to your daughter; it was out of my control.<\/p>\n

\u2018Um, I do know you shall be very sad, upset, same me. It shouldn\u2019t occur and I hope you okay, I do know you\u2019re not, but I hope.<\/p>\n

\u2018Please tell other girls \u2026 simply to watch out.\u2019<\/p>\n

In accordance with Thai media<\/a>, he said he had not known Ms Tunchanok before they met in Pattaya and went to his condo, and that they initially agreed on a payment of 1,000 baht (\u00a320) but they got right into a heated argument after he offered just 500 baht (\u00a310) as an alternative.<\/p>\n

Anek Sarathongyu, Superintendent of the Pattaya City Police, said Carman had initially been charged with \u2018taking a minor for the aim of committing an indecent act\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u2018We imagine he killed her, and he’s being questioned on suspicion of murder,\u2019 he said.<\/p>\n

\u2018He has fingernail scratches across his body which might be consistent with a struggle, but he denies killing her.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u2018He said that she disappeared from the room while [he] was asleep and unaware of anything.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018She was completely naked, her face showed signs of severe assault, with swelling and bruising covering your complete face, and blood was flowing from her mouth and nose,\u2019 Mr Sarathongyu said.<\/p>\n

In a video taken after his arrest, Carmen was asked about three scratches on his neck.<\/p>\n

\u2018I believe it\u2019s a spider; they all the time get in here,\u2019 he told them.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Thailand\u2019s criminal code<\/a>, being convicted for murder can carry the death penalty or between 15 and 20 years\u2019 inprisonment.<\/p>\n

June 25, 9.25pm to 9.48pm:\u00a0<\/strong>CCTV captures Carman dragging a big suitcase out of his room and leaving the condo on a bike with the suitcase strapped to the back. He then sped alongside the railway tracks, disappearing from view for nine minutes.<\/p>\n

June 25, 9.57pm to 10.06pm:<\/strong>\u00a0CCTV footage shows Carman returning to the accommodation.<\/p>\n

June 26, 11.36am:\u00a0<\/strong>A friend lodged a missing person report for Ms Tunchanok, telling police they’d last seen her with a foreign man.<\/p>\n

June 26, 2.26pm:<\/strong>\u00a0Carman is seen leaving his condo.<\/p>\n

June 26, no time provided:<\/strong>\u00a0Police gather evidence to request an arrest warrant from the Pattaya Court. Officers find Mr Carman\u2019s passport in the course of the inspection of a hotel room.<\/p>\n

June 27, 1.15am:\u00a0<\/strong>Investigative teams from the Pattaya City Police Station and the Immigration Bureau arrest Mr Carman at Suvarnabhumi Airport.<\/p>\n

June 27, 1.30am:\u00a0<\/strong>Police discover a suitcase near railway tracks a couple of 10-minute drive from Mr Carman\u2019s hotel, which incorporates Ms Tunchanok\u2019s body.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n

Her stepmother, Oradee Bussarakum, said she and the teenager\u2019s father had tried but did not contact her.<\/p>\n

In a tearful interview outside a police station in Pattaya, Ms Tunchanok\u2019s father, Thongchai Donholma,\u00a0<\/strong>said \u2018I’m deeply saddened. My daughter had \u2060no mother, so at any time when she wanted anything, she would discover a \u200bway herself, and he or she \u200ball the time helped me too,\u2019 he \u200bsaid.<\/p>\n
