A person was attacked and killed by a crocodile at a well-liked beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, in line with reports citing the Jalisco State Police.<\/p>\n

The victim, who was a 28-year-old man from Mexico, was on the Marina Vallarta Beach near the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa when he was allegedly attacked and dragged out to sea by the crocodile on Friday around 6:30 p.m. local time, Jalisco State Police said in a press release Sunday to ABC News<\/a>\u00a0and NBC News Los Angeles<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The victim\u2019s body was reportedly recovered Saturday morning roughly 300 metres offshore following an overnight search and rescue operation at sea and on land, ABC News reports.<\/p>\n

Global News has reached out to the Jalisco State Police and the Marriott Puerto Vallarta Resort and Spa for further comment but has not received a response.<\/p>\n

Jamie Yetter, her fianc\u00e9 Chris Bury, and her daughter were staying on the hotel and hanging out by the pool once they heard screams coming from the beach, according to NBC News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe thought we saw a man stuck in a rip current, so Chris took off all the way down to the water and I ran right after him,\u201d Yetter told NBC Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

Bury told the outlet that he took off in a kayak and commenced to paddle toward the person to attempt to help him.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere have been no oars. There was really nothing on the beach in any respect to assist. We were just scrambling, attempting to do what we could,\u201d Bury said. \u201cI used to be on the kayak right when he got pulled under.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yetter told ABC News that the crocodile was very large and had the person \u201cby the thigh.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe would turn, and the scale of this crocodile, I mean, his head was so long as my torso, his tail thicker than my legs. He was just turning him, taking him under,\u201d she told ABC7<\/a>.<\/p>\n
