Since Forbidden Door was introduced in 2022, the pay-per-view has evolved from being a show that pits a few of the perfect stars that AEW has to supply against the largest names in Recent Japan Pro Wrestling, to showcasing talent from several international promotions. Along with AEW and NJPW, CMLL and STARDOM were also heavily featured at this past weekend’s edition of Forbidden Door,\u00a0and in keeping with former International Champion Will Ospreay, the European scene must be next to get entangled.<\/p>\n

Speaking on\u00a0<\/em>“107.7 The Bone,”<\/a>\u00a0Ospreay stated that he’d wish to see more independent wrestling talent from the UK get a probability at Forbidden Door in years to come back.<\/p>\n

“I believe the unique concept of Forbidden Door was obviously the dream matches that we could placed on there right? And I\u00a0do think it has drifted away from that. I believe now it’s more of just like the celebration of the various cultures in pro wrestling.\u00a0So obviously, you bought\u00a0the Japanese strong style, you bought the Mexican Lucha Libre, American style …\u00a0I’d like to stretch\u00a0it out to Europe and clearly have Revolution Pro Wrestling, an element of that which was my stay in British wrestling. Tony [Khan] saw my last match there and I do know he has a beautiful\u00a0relationship with Andy [Quildan] and I believe obviously that will be such a superb relationship to have and to assist nurture Rev Pro and lend them more talents.”<\/p>\n

This past weekend at Forbidden Door, Will Ospreay defeated Swerve Strickland within the\u00a0Owen Hart Foundation 2026 Men’s Tournament Final, meaning he’s now guaranteed an AEW World Championship match at All On this coming August, which is able to happen in his home country of England in Wembley Stadium.<\/p>\n
