Warwickshire County Cricket Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Sophie Ball as its inaugural Head of Data and Intelligence, a pioneering role that reinforces the Club\u2019s commitment to innovation and high-performance excellence.<\/strong><\/p>\n The creation of this position marks a big and progressive step forward for Warwickshire, positioning the Club on the forefront of the county game in harnessing data, insight and intelligence to drive success across all areas of cricket performance. <\/p>\n The Club worked alongside Dr Liam Sanders, Head of Cricket Intelligence for England Women\u2019s Cricket, who consulted on the appointment throughout the method.<\/p>\n Ball joins Warwickshire with eight years\u2019 experience in elite sport, bringing a proven track record from a few of the most successful high-performance environments within the UK. <\/p>\n She began her profession with the Rugby Football Union (RFU) as an analyst before spending the past six years at British Cycling as Lead Insights Analyst. <\/p>\n During her time there, Sophie operated inside probably the most decorated Olympic performance systems in British sport, contributing to a deeply integrated and forward-thinking approach to data and intelligence.<\/p>\n In her recent role, Ball will oversee the event and implementation of a Club-wide data and intelligence strategy. <\/p>\n Crucially, this shouldn’t be simply an extension of performance evaluation but a transformational role designed to attach and maximise the worth of information across cricket, science and medicine, and wider Club operations.<\/p>\n James Thomas, Performance Director at Warwickshire, said: \u201cThis appointment is a big step in how we proceed to construct a contemporary, high-performance sport environment. Sophie\u2019s track record in Olympic and skilled sport shows she understands methods to turn complex data into clear, actionable insight.<\/p>\n \u201cThis role is about greater than evaluation; it\u2019s about evolving our systems and considering in order that coaches and players are higher supported to perform to their best.\u201d<\/p>\n Sophie Ball said: \u201cI\u2019m incredibly excited to affix Warwickshire at such a forward-thinking time for the Club.
