Abhishek Nama\u2019s Nagabandham is similar story that captivates the audience because of its grandness in storytelling! The pan-India mythology spectacle circles across the story of the golden flower \u2013 Brahma Kamala, which has powers.<\/p>\n The narrative of the film is anchored by two sacred things \u2013 a cryptic ancient manuscript and the magical flower. Hidden and guarded deep inside the sacred chambers of the historic Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangapatnam, these two historical objects function the last word keys to unlocking a mythical gateway, behind which lies an unimaginable treasure with enough power to permanently reshape your entire destiny of India.<\/p>\n The story of Nagabandham involves a ruthless Abdali who tries to steal these two divine objects. But in his way stands our hero Rudra, Virat Karna, who’s the defender of the Sanatana Dharma, amidst a couple of flashbacks from the seventeenth century. There are archaeological developments, and amid all this, the film paints a gorgeous canvas!<\/p>\n Virat Karna undergoes an incredibly sincere physical transformation, looking absolutely apt. On the flip side, Rishabh Sawhney (Abdali) brings a strong presence that makes him stand out as an antagonist. Murali Sharma, because the priest, holds command on screen, like every character he plays! Amidst all of them is Nabha Natesh\u2019s Parvathi, whose shade is unclear in most parts. His avatar diving into the mythology is equally impressive!<\/p>\n <\/span><\/p>\n Director Abhishek Nama doesn’t cheat his audience in terms of the dimensions. Backed by an enormous budget, each penny is visible on screen \u2013 be it the flowery dance sequences or the huge treasure hunt. Visuals from the temple scenes are also breathtaking. The lens handles the film\u2019s visual storytelling very aptly! The lighting is gorgeous, the frames are dramatic, and the aesthetics are breathtaking! It is sort of a Baahubali world visually, and that truly calls for a celebratory round of applause!<\/p>\n Abhishek Nama clearly understands the dimensions of his film, and he puts in all the trouble to make it a grand visual spectacle. Well, guess what? Despite all of the bloodshed, the film stands very tall in that department. Nonetheless, it stumbles in storytelling and writing, struggling to ascertain Rudra\u2019s urgency to play the upright protector of Dharma!<\/p>\n Clocking in at over 3 hours and quarter-hour, the editing department slips, and the romantic tracks act as massive speed breakers, though they give the impression of being beautiful on-screen. The film preaches an excessive amount of, with multiple chaotic flashbacks, which is just too much for the audience to recollect. All of the backstories, together with the sequences, amount to a really long history lesson blended with mythology, and that is where people might hand over as an audience!<\/p>\n Nonetheless, Nagabandham must be credited for daring to inform such a fantastic mythological story and telling it right. It’s an ambitious theatrical gamble that works excellently as a big-screen visual spectacle but struggles heavily with its storytelling. Watch it for the magnificent sets and definitely watch it for the audacity to dream big after which deliver it as well! The film barely loses its plot once it starts aiming to develop into a grand motion spectacle as well!<\/p>\n 3 stars. 0.5 for this sheer guts to try something so ambitious and deliver it.
