CD Projekt Red is celebrating one other sales milestone for Cyberpunk 2077, announcing today that the open-world RPG has crossed 40 million copies sold worldwide. The studio shared the news on social media with the road \u201cNight City population: 40 million dreamers,\u201d and the count includes copies of the bottom game in addition to the Ultimate Edition bundle.<\/p>\n

The milestone comes just eight months after the sport crossed 35 million copies in November, and for comparison, the previous climb from 30 million to 35 million took a full yr. Cyberpunk 2077 launched with well-documented technical problems in December 2020, arrived on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S in early 2022, and reached Switch 2 just over a yr ago. The sport turns six in December.<\/p>\n

In an announcement, joint CEO Micha\u0142 Nowakowski said the milestone reflects the sport\u2019s lasting strength and called it a foundation for upcoming projects within the universe, including the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 anime arriving this fall. There are not any recent expansions planned for 2077 itself, though, with CD Projekt Red\u2019s attention on the sequel, which we covered when it entered pre-production.<\/p>\n

The announcement also lands in the course of the Steam Summer Sale<\/a>, where the bottom game is currently 70 percent off, with the Ultimate Edition and Phantom Liberty discounted as well, and concurrent player counts on Steam have climbed past 87,000 while the sale runs.<\/p>\n
