Robert Whittaker insists he\u2019s bulked up the correct way for UFC 329 <\/h2>\n

At just 6ft, Robert Whittaker is considered one of the smallest light heavyweight fighters on the UFC roster. <\/p>\n

A viral picture shows him looking smaller than lightweight fighter Dan Hooker during his UFC 329 camp<\/p>\n

Still, Whittaker insists that his move as much as the 205lb division is mandatory and well thought out. <\/p>\n

That is one of the best I feel I\u2019ve felt during my profession, holistically. That is only a way more natural weight for me,\u201d he said during a recent interview with UFC legend Demetrious Johnson<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe last couple of camps, I even have just not enjoyed due to amount of sacrifice and skipping on food I\u2019ve needed to do. Especially within the last 4 or five weeks, after I\u2019d really must get my weight all the way down to get into the weight-cut range for middleweight. It was just an excessive amount of, and I feel it began affecting me within the fights.\u201d <\/p>\n

Whittaker is aware that MMA fans are questioning his move to light heavyweight ahead of UFC 329. <\/p>\n

The 35-year-old laughed off criticism as he revealed his approach to bulking up for the Nikita Krylov fight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve done all the correct things,\u201d Whittaker added. \u201cI\u2019m not going to light heavyweight as an out-of-shape middleweight. I\u2019m not only a middleweight who can eat more now. I\u2019ve been doing the correct things. I\u2019ve leaned up.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m at a more natural weight range for myself. I\u2019m still walking around 220-225lbs, pretty lean. I\u2019m just heavy.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, Reddit absolutely kills me with every photo I post up. It\u2019s \u2018Not excited for Bobby for looking so small at light heavyweight.\u2019 \u2018Bobby is looking small.\u2019 I\u2019m just short, dude. I\u2019ve got loads of my weight and thickness downstairs.\u201d<\/p>\n
