15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi made his international debut for India within the second T20I against England on Saturday. With this, he became India\u2019s youngest-ever international debutant, surpassing the long-standing record held by batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar for nearly 37 years.<\/p>\n
Although Sooryavanshi scored only 14 runs off 10 balls, he smashed two towering sixes too. Speaking after the match, England batter Jacob Bethell, who played a key role for his side, shared his thoughts on this.<\/p>\n
\u201cYeah, it feels weird to say that I’m playing against someone seven years younger than me. I actually have watched him bat in India, watched him today \u2013 the swing and every part is pure. So, he\u2019s an unbelievable talent,\u201d said Bethell.<\/p>\n
Nonetheless, Jacob Bethell scored a composed yet explosive unbeaten 76 to guide England to a four-wicket victory while chasing 191, helping the hosts take a 1-0 lead within the five-match series.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019d actually put it up near the highest. There\u2019s nothing sweeter as a batter than walking off with a win, not out, walking in, shaking the boys\u2019 hands,\u201d Bethell said when asked where the innings ranked amongst his favourites for England,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve scored just a few a whole bunch, but only one among them was in a winning cause. We lost in Australia, we lost in India, so after those games you usually think, \u2018What more could I actually have done?\u2019 \u201cWhereas today, I\u2019m all smiles. We\u2019ve gone one-nil up within the series. There\u2019s just a few scars against India, so it\u2019s nice to get one up on them. It\u2019s also given me quite a lot of confidence going into the last three games.\u201d Jacob Bethell concluded.<\/p>\n
