He insisted that Mexico would defeat England in tonight\u2019s World Cup Round of 16 clash, placing a $100,000 bet with the loser having to pay out to a charity of the winner\u2019s selection. Unfortunately for the boxing star, the result went Warren\u2019s way as England won 3-2.<\/p>\n

Ryan Garcia to pay out $100,000 to charity after losing World Cup bet<\/h2>\n

Earlier this week after England qualified for the Round of 16 with a nervy 2-1 win over the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ryan Garcia took to social media to goad Frank Warren with a bet. The legendary promoter had been celebrating England\u2019s victory, and Garcia offered a friendly wager.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey frank we don\u2019t speak much but when you need a bet for Sunday let me know,\u201d Garcia wrote. \u201cMEXICO ALL THE WAY.\u201d Warren loved the concept, responding: \u201cHey Champ, I like a bet. Let\u2019s speak later and set the terms. It\u2019s coming home.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Warren confirmed his interest again in a later tweet, Garcia tweeted this morning: \u201cGame day Frank Warren. What’s the official wager? VIVA MEXICO.\u201d The promoter replied: \u201cBig day Ryan! $100k, winner picks the charity. Come on England.\u201d<\/p>\n

When the sport was over, Garcia tweeted \u201cCongrats England. Fair play see you in September.\u201d After replying to a fan who demanded that he pay Warren by insisting that he’ll, he added: \u201cI’ll proudly hold that L.\u201d<\/p>\n

Warren then suggested two charities to whom Garcia could donate; Boxwise<\/a> and Debra<\/a>. \u201cGreat match @RyanGarcia,\u201d he wrote, alongside links to the organizations. \u201cTwo exciting and excellent teams. Viva Mexico. Viva England. There\u2019s a few sensible UK charities I\u2019m involved with.\u201d<\/p>\n
