A British businessman was found stabbed to death in mysterious circumstances at a luxury villa he shared together with his wife in Thailand.<\/p>\n

Thomas David Powell, 33, from Stoke-on-Trent, was allegedly attacked with a 20-inch machete by\u00a0Isabelle\u00a0Violet\u00a0Carreras, 20, from Stafford, at a villa in Pattaya.<\/p>\n

Thomas\u2019s body was discovered on Thursday morning, when his British friend Charlie, 33, became concerned that his phone was unreachable.<\/p>\n

Charlie then got here to the luxurious housing estate within the Bang Lamung district, where he found the villa in disarray and Thomas\u2019s corpse within the shower before calling the police.<\/p>\n

Isabelle was filmed saying: \u2018It was after he did it, he realised how much he was bleeding, and he was walking around, and I attempted calling an ambulance, but I couldn\u2019t call an ambulance in time, I don\u2019t want him to go.\u2019<\/p>\n

She\u2019s since been charged with murder. <\/p>\n

Officers said they found blood stains on the tiles and cabinets, while blood-soaked towels and rags were strewn across the ground from suspected attempts to wash up the scene.<\/p>\n

Police said the businessman is believed to have been dead for around six hours before being discovered.<\/p>\n

His wife claimed his death was a suicide, adding that he was \u2018really into grass recently\u2019 and that he \u2018had been taking six strips of Valium day by day\u2019.<\/p>\n

Investigators said evidence on the scene contradicted her claims. They reportedly found cuts on\u00a0Isabelle\u2019s fingers and signs of a struggle on the property. The 20-inch machete discovered within the kitchen sink had allegedly been washed and cleaned.<\/p>\n

Police Colonel Nattapon Phongsuksakul said officers were reviewing CCTV at the house to find out what really happened.<\/p>\n

He said: \u2018Based on the injuries, it’s difficult for us to simply accept that claim because there was clearly a stab wound to the back.<\/p>\n

\u2018There have been multiple injuries across the body, including each slash and stab wounds. The fatal wound was a stab to the left side of the back, showing a direct plunging motion. <\/p>\n

\u2018We firmly consider this was not a suicide as she claimed. What makes us doubt her account further is that she washed the knife.<\/p>\n

\u2018The weapon used was a machete, and washing it suggests an try and conceal evidence. There’s also CCTV footage from contained in the house.\u2019<\/p>\n
