King Green says he and Terrance McKinney agreed to not fight one another.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Green was originally hoping to earn a fundamental event slot for his third outing contained in the Octagon this yr.<\/p>\n

While the news that McKinney is next for Green got fight fans excited on account of their styles, it\u2019s not the caliber of matchup that the 39-year-old veteran hoped for.<\/p>\n

He recently explained why this fight is occurring on July 11 and got fired up when detailing what made him sign on the dotted line.<\/p>\n

King Green claims Terrance McKinney kept pushing fight between them despite prior agreement<\/h2>\n

King Green didn\u2019t pull punches when sharing on the Anik & Florian Podcast<\/a> how his fight with Terrance McKinney got here to be.<\/p>\n

The fan favorite lightweight said that when McKinney first told him he\u2019d been offered the bout, they agreed to not fight one another on account of their friendship.<\/p>\n

Green explained that they\u2019ve hung out together up to now and he\u2019s even tried to assist his fellow fighter by highlighting a few of the issues along with his overall skillset.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt does nothing for me to take this fight,\u201d he said. \u201cWe were homies, bro. Like there\u2019s so many other people on this thing we are able to fight like, go construct your way with any person else.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Green wasn\u2019t initially focused on the matchup, his attitude modified when McKinney brought the fight offer up again and revealed conversations that had been within the works for a while.<\/p>\n

It was at this point that the 54-fight veteran made the choice to sign on the dotted line with none more words being exchanged after feeling like his former friend is attempting to \u201cpress\u201d him.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo now, we got a fight. We\u2019re friends. We got to go fight. It\u2019s personal now,\u201d Green added. \u201cSo, okay, let\u2019s go, bro. I\u2019m finna show you this dance right here is a bit of different from anybody you\u2019ve danced with before. I\u2019m finna knock your a\u2013 out.\u201d <\/p>\n

Each men\u2019s fighting styles are so entertaining that they don\u2019t need any extra motivation or tension to provide highlight-reel-worthy performances.<\/p>\n

That being said, the interactions between them during fight week are sure to be interesting following what Green needed to say on July 6.<\/p>\n
