The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/em> star Taylor Frankie Paul<\/strong> made rare comments about her relationship with ex-husband Tate Paul<\/strong> after their divorce.<\/p>\n

Taylor and Tate got married in 2016 and expanded their family twice before being involved in a \u201csoft swinging\u201d sex scandal. The controversy involved Taylor and Tate hooking up with couples \u2014 with them calling it quits within the aftermath of the drama.<\/p>\n

The fact star, who shares daughter Indy and son Ocean with Tate, found love with Dakota Mortensen<\/strong>, who was Taylor\u2019s first boyfriend since her divorce. Taylor and Dakota faced major ups and downs \u2014 including Taylor\u2019s February 2023 domestic violence arrest \u2014 which was documented on season 1 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Taylor was ultimately charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence within the presence of a toddler, child abuse with injury and criminal mischief after the incident. Taylor pleaded guilty six months later to aggravated assault, while the opposite 4 charges were dismissed with prejudice. She reached a plea deal the next month.<\/p>\n

The summer after Taylor went public with their sexual preferences, the couple divorced, but they continued to keep up a great coparenting relationship for the sake of [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

There have been restrictions, nonetheless, which is why they broke up after Taylor crossed a line of their agreement by going \u201call the best way\u201d with one other man.<\/p>\n

Following Taylor\u2019s first domestic dispute with Dakota, Tate asked police about getting a protective order for the previous couple\u2019s children. In a phone call audio and transcripts obtained by Us Weekly in March 2026, Tate asked Utah police to make clear what legal protections were put in place for his children following Taylor\u2019s arrest.<\/p>\n

March 2026<\/h2>\n

\u201cI just respect his privacy loads, and I do know that\u2019s what he likes,\u201d Taylor exclusively told Us in her March 2026 cover story. \u201cBut he and I actually have all the time been really good friends and [have a] very healthy coparenting relationship.\u201d<\/p>\n

Us confirmed in June 2026 that Tate filed for a brief restraining order against Taylor, requesting a hearing to debate the matter. Tate also filed a petition to switch the terms of his and Taylor\u2019s divorce and custody agreement.<\/p>\n

In response to court documents previously obtained by Us in March 2026, Tate agreed to pay his ex-wife $3,000 a month in child support after their divorce. Of their August 2022 divorce decree, the exes were awarded joint legal and physical custody of Indy and Ocean.<\/p>\n

Tate\u2019s recent petition requested to switch their agreement so he received sole custody of their children. His request was ultimately denied sooner or later later.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Tate himself recognizes, lots of his supporting allegations are based upon inadmissible hearsay, with none corroborating evidence,\u201d court documents obtained by Us read. \u201cLots of the concerns, like the kids not doing well in class and expressing sadness would require ongoing attention not remedied with an emergency order changing custody.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement continued, \u201cThe court acknowledges that what he’s allegedly hearing can create anxiety, but contrary to the claim that the kids are in immediate danger, Taylor proffers that Tate left the kids along with her from June 11 through the 17, 2026, while he went to Iceland. The court cannot find a direct and irreparable harm as contemplated by Rule 65A, and the motion is denied.\u201d<\/p>\n

July 2026<\/h2>\n

After his initial request for a restraining order was denied, Tate filed a motion for reconsideration and submitted several exhibits. Taylor, for her part, broke her silence concerning the legal drama.<\/p>\n
