Dricus du Plessis refuses to back against Conor McGregor<\/h2>\n

Dricus du Plessis also believes that Conor McGregor could win by KO in Las Vegas this weekend.<\/p>\n

The previous UFC middleweight champion is an enormous fan of each men, but he can\u2019t bring himself to back against \u2018Mystic Mac\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ve never ever made a secret of it. I\u2019m a large Conor fan, but I\u2019m also a large Max fan,\u201d Du Plessis told Fight Forecast.<\/p>\n

\u201c, Conor began coming up once I was just starting out my pro profession, his UFC run began. So, he was a man that I genuinely looked as much as as I progressed in the game. Imagine this, imagine Conor beating Max Holloway and getting that title shot.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going with the Mac. I\u2019m never going against him. I\u2019m never going against Conor. Yeah. Max Holloway, massive fan, love him. He\u2019s an awesome fighter, and he\u2019s deserving of every little thing that he\u2019s gotten and all of the praise, but I can\u2019t go against Conor.\u201d<\/p>\n

The interviewer went on to ask Du Plessis how he thinks McGregor will get the job done at UFC 329.<\/p>\n

\u201cConor has that scary timing,\u201d DDP replied. <\/p>\n

\u201cEverybody that\u2019s fought him says that. That timing, and he has that sneaky power. Everybody that fights him says when he hits you, you’re feeling it. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt just takes one. Ilia [Topuria] knocked out Max, so it may well be done.\u201d<\/p>\n

When will Dricus du Plessis fight next?<\/h2>\n

Dricus du Plessis hasn\u2019t fought since he was\u00a0outwrestled by Khamzat Chimaev\u00a0for five rounds at UFC 319 in August 2025.<\/p>\n

The 32-year-old will return from his middleweight title loss at UFC Oklahoma City on July 18.<\/p>\n

Du Plessis will face Kamaru Usman in a long-awaited principal event battle of former UFC champions.<\/p>\n
