Paddy Pimblett wins $1k from Daniel Cormier due to USA\u2019s FIFA World Cup loss to Belgium<\/h2>\n

While MMA\u2019s leading promotion stages UFC 329 in Las Vegas, the 2026 FIFA World Cup is playing out across the USA, Canada, and Mexico.<\/p>\n

The tournament recently found its way into fight week discussions due to a friendly wager between Pimblett and Cormier.<\/p>\n

In accordance with a recent UFC post on X, the pair agreed on a $1,000 bet for the USA\u2019s round of 16 match against Belgium.<\/p>\n

Pimblett emerged on the suitable side of that deal after the European side thrashed the Americans 4-1 in front of over 66,000 fans on the Seattle Stadium.<\/p>\n

\u201cI used to be crammed with unnecessary confidence watching us beat Bosnia and Herzegovina,\u201d Cormier said after greeting Pimblett within the video posted to social media.<\/p>\n

\u201cS\u2014. Bro, I owe you money. I owe you $1,000. I’ll give it to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

A triumphant Pimblett called Cormier a \u201cman of his word\u201d after being handed the total winnings.<\/p>\n

Pimblett will hope that is just the beginning of his lucrative exploits in Las Vegas this week.<\/p>\n

After losing to champion Justin Gaethje of their interim title fight this past January, the Scouser might want to bounce back to winning ways if he desires to stake a claim for a rematch against \u2018The Highlight\u2019.<\/p>\n
