Gable Steveson isn\u2019t against having to potentially fight Josh Hokit in the longer term, but that will not come to fruition.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This coming Saturday, Gable Steveson makes his highly anticipated UFC debut when he takes on Elisha Ellison at UFC 329, on Conor McGregor\u2018s comeback card.<\/p>\n

<\/figure>\n

The 26-year-old is widely considered to be certainly one of the brightest prospects in the game, and he has already made UFC history before entering into the cage.<\/p>\n

And due to heavyweight division lacking in talent, he could find himself being fast-tracked towards the highest with a powerful win on Saturday night.<\/p>\n

Steveson open to fighting Josh Hokit but says he has heard he\u2019s moving to 205lbs<\/h2>\n

The division has had some excitement surrounding it over recent months after the rise of the controversial Josh Hokit.<\/p>\n

\u2018The Incredible Hok\u2019 fought in potentially the Fight of the Yr earlier this 12 months when he took on Curtis Blaydes, before then scoring an enormous win over Derrick Lewis at UFC Freedom 250.<\/p>\n

Ahead of his debut, the Olympic gold medalist has cleared up what his relationship is with Hokit, as they each share the training room at Jackson Wink.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a perfect debut opponent for me, all respects to Elisha for taking this fight, I come on the market and like I said, treat everybody the identical, whether or not they are Derrick Lewis, Josh Hokit, Tom Aspinall or Ciryl Gane,\u201d Steveson said on the UFC 329 media day.<\/p>\n

\u201cJosh Hokit does what Josh Hokit does and what he\u2019s doing is great for him. The character work is working for him, I applaud him for making it work and if people prefer it, people prefer it, if people don\u2019t, then who cares?<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been in the identical room again and again, Josh is doing a improbable job of what Josh does and good for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite sharing the training room along with his fellow former NFL star, Steveson is open to fighting Hokit in the longer term, but claims that will not must occur as he has heard rumors that the 28-year-old is moving all the way down to 205lbs.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s not tough for me to go against Josh Hokit, you already know, I truthfully heard that Josh Hokit was gonna go all the way down to 205lbs from someone so if he goes down that\u2019d be an important decision for him in the long term.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hokit has been campaigning for a fight against Alex Pereira next, hoping to earn himself a title shot, fighting the winner of the likely upcoming unification fight between Ciryl Gane and Tom Aspinall.<\/p>\n

His plans, though, can have modified with Steveson\u2019s revelation.<\/p>\n
