Jack Perry appears set to stay with AEW for the long run, and a brand new report suggests that WWE was never seriously considering making a move for him if he had reached free agency.<\/p>\n

Perry confirmed during Wednesday night\u2019s episode of AEW Dynamite that he has signed a brand new contract with AEW, ending weeks of speculation about his future as his previous deal was reportedly nearing its expiration.<\/p>\n

In line with a report from WrestleVotes Radio, WWE had \u201clittle to no discussions\u201d internally about pursuing Perry had he develop into available. Sources throughout the company indicated that there was minimal interest in signing the previous AEW National Champion, with many feeling that he didn’t fit WWE\u2019s current roster direction and was never viewed as a sensible free-agent goal.<\/p>\n

The report doesn’t state that Perry\u2019s backstage altercation with CM Punk at All In 2023 \u2014 which ultimately led to Punk\u2019s departure from AEW \u2014 played any role in WWE\u2019s lack of interest. It simply notes that no connection was made between the incident and the corporate\u2019s stance on Perry.<\/p>\n

While financial terms and the length of Perry\u2019s latest AEW contract haven’t been disclosed, the previous TNT Champion, World Tag Team Champion, and AEW National Champion has officially committed his future to the promotion.<\/p>\n
