Max Holloway is probably not battling the type of size drawback at UFC 329 that many had predicted.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u2018Blessed\u2019 has his second fight of 2026 this Saturday in the course of the UFC\u2019s International Fight Week, and it is a large one for the featherweight legend.<\/p>\n The previous 145-pound champion and BMF titleholder will headline UFC 329 against the returning Conor McGregor, a fight that marks Holloway\u2019s very first welterweight outing.<\/p>\n Those backing the Irishman have cited his size and history competing at 170 kilos as his important advantage, but a member of Holloway\u2019s team insists that the Hawaiian has enough mass to achieve the heavier weight class.<\/p>\n Do you agree with the legendary Hawaiian’s picks?<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n Holloway lost to Charles Oliveira at UFC 326 this past March. That headlining fight was a light-weight bout for the symbolic BMF title.<\/p>\n Given the relatively quick turnaround before his upcoming opportunity to exact revenge on McGregor, 13 years after losing to him at 145 kilos, there has not been much time for \u2018Blessed\u2019 to bulk up.<\/p>\n Despite that, Holloway apparently still needed to perform a weight cut to hit 170 kilos on the size at Friday\u2019s weigh-ins.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re going to be cutting weight. Max is an enormous guy,\u201d Holloway\u2019s dietician, Tyler Minton, said during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show<\/a><\/em> earlier in fight week.<\/p>\n \u201cOnce I post an image with me and Max, it\u2019s at all times, \u2018Holy smokes, he\u2019s huge.\u2019 Max is a really large 155er now that he\u2019s had time to do that, and you realize that a big 155er is a 170, naturally.<\/p>\n \u201cSo, yeah, we\u2019re still gonna have a weight cut, but that being said, it\u2019s not one among those you’ve to fear or worry about,\u201d he continued. \u201cWe\u2019ve been in a position to focus purely on performance.\u201d<\/p>\n While UFC 329 will mark Holloway\u2019s maiden welterweight performance, McGregor has some experience within the division.<\/p>\n The Irishman split two welterweight fights against Nate Diaz in 2016 before knocking out Donald Cerrone with ease in his return to the load class six years ago.<\/p>\nMax Holloway puts Conor McGregor number 4 in UFC Featherweight champion rankings<\/h3>\n
