landing.<\/p>\n<p>The aircraft was alleged to fly from Thessaloniki to Memmingen Airport near Munich in Germany but returned to Thessaloniki Friday morning \u201cwhen a passenger window dislodged inflight,\u201d Ryanair said in an announcement to the British news agency.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe aircraft landed normally, and passengers returned to the terminal,\u201d Ryanair added.<\/p>\n<div response by the point of publication.<\/p>\n<p>Local Greek media reported that a chunk of the plane flew off and broke a window shortly after takeoff on Friday, causing the cabin oxygen masks to drop and sucking one passenger\u2019s head and shoulders out of the window.<\/p>\n<p>Two airport sources with \u200bknowledge of the incident reported the identical details to Reuters, it said. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.com\/news\/articles\/cgk65knkyzdo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The BBC<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/business\/2026\/jul\/10\/ryanair-passenger-almost-sucked-out-of-shattered-window-during-flight\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Guardian<\/a> also reported those details. Ryanair told Reuters that it&#8217;s unclear what caused the broken window.<\/p>\n<p>Passengers also told Greek media that they heard a loud bang, that oxygen masks dropped and that the plane began descending, the Associated Press said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost individuals had fallen asleep, we had closed our eyes.
